In this private guided 7 day amazing adventure tour we will encounter the unbound nature of the south coast of Iceland; enjoying waterfalls, glaciers, volcanos, monumental mountains, black sand beaches and deserts, glacier lagoons, northern lights and endless lava fields. Having experienced the unbound nature first hand, with highlights like the glacier hike and the Ice Cave Expedition, everyone should have embraced and embodied what Iceland is truly all about.

DAY 1
REYKJANES - REYKJAVIK

Your trip will start by travelling through the moonlike landscape on  Reykjanes Peninsula. You will soon get a feeling of what Iceland stands for, travelling through endless lava fields and geothermal areas in all volcanic surroundings. You will visit locations like the Bridge between the Continents, Gunnuhver geothermal hotspring and Reykjanesviti lighthouse with stunning ocean views.

It is time to relax and get warm in the natural baths of the Blue Lagoon resort. With a premium entrance you will have a bathrope, towel, slippers, face masks and a complimentary drink in the lagoon.
 
As you have enjoy the geothermal pools, you will again travel with your driver towards Reykjavík Capital. Here you will have the opportunity to stretch out after a long flight and get to know our small city a little.
DAY 2
GOLDEN CIRCLE AND SOUTH COAST.

After an early breakfast in Reykjavik capital we are headed towards the National Park Þingvellir and the first official stop of the Golden Circle route.

After enjoying 
Þingvellir we are headed for the geothermal hotspot Geysir hotsprings and Gullfoss waterfall.

Depending on the time of travel we will make a pleasant lunch stop at Efsti-Dalur farm, before or after the Geysir and Gullfoss locations. 

As we have covered the Golden Circle route and enjoyed the countryside to the fullest we travel to the ancient seabed of Iceland or the current south coast of Iceland.

Our last stop of the day will be by the famous waterfall Seljalandsfoss that is fed by the glacier and volcano Eyjafjallajökull that erupted in 2010.

We end your day at the local and cozy Hrífunes Guesthouse. 
DAY 3
HIGHLAND ADVENTURE

Your private guide will pick you up at Hrífunes Guesthouse after breakfast. First destination is Eldgjá. It is easily accessible on foot with a beautiful waterfall that runs through the ancient lava formations. A relatively short hike to the waterfall Ófærufoss is appropriate if the weather permits.

After a lunch out in nature, we drive from Eldgjá through Álftavatnskrókur area, crossing mountain plateaus and some glacier rivers. With the monumental mountain Mælifell as one of the highlights of the day we cross the Mælifellssandur black deserts.

On our way back from the highlands we will traverse the ancient Öldufellsleið route into the direction of our accommodation down on the south coast.

Depending on weather conditions we might get to enjoy our surroundings to the fullest visiting some secret spots on our way. In the evening we will enjoy another high-quality home-made dinner at Hrífunes Guesthouse.

 
DAY 4
VATNAJÖKULL NATIONAL PARK I
– GLACIER HIKE


On this day your journey along the coast will continue, you will press on towards the Skaftafell national park, nestled under the largest glacier in Iceland, Vatnajökull.

The next two days will be spent travelling in and around Vatnajökull National Park. You'll get to know glaciers inside and out as towering over the park is Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier.

There are countless natural wonders to see here, and you'll start with a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull or Falljökull glacier where you'll trek across the white expanse, past deep crevasses and strange ice sculptures.

After about three hours of outdoor activities, you'll get some hot beverages for the road. You'll then head for Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. There, icebergs that have broken off a nearby glacier float peacefully on the serene lake.We will enjoy the rest of the day in Vatnajökull National Park, visiting some locations away from the crowds. 
DAY 5
VATNAJÖKULL NATIONAL PARK II
– PRIVATE ZODIAC BOAT TOUR


After a quality breakfast at your hotel, we will start our day down by the black sand diamond beach.

The first scheduled activity however is the amazing  Zodiac boat tour at 10.30, that is definitely one of the highlights of the trip. You will be sailing in Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon among the crystalized iceberg that can date back more than on thousand years. This activity can also be done as an kayaking tour in the glacier lagoon.

After the boat tour, we are going to enjoy the Vatnajökull glacer Park to the fullest, visting the Black Sand Diamond beach and Jökulsárlón glaicer Lagoon. We will also visit Fjallsárlón glacier Lagoon away from the crowds, surrounded by icebergs that have broken off a nearby glacier floating peacefully on the serene lake.

With several options for this particular day, then a 2-3 hour hike into one of the massive glacier canyons comes highly recommended. A short hike to Svartifoss waterfall also comes recommended.
DAY 6
SKAFTAFELL NATIONAL PARK

We will start the day by going to Skaftafell National Park. There we have the option of hiking to one of the outskirt glaciers of Vatnajökull Glacier or hike to the beautiful Svaritfoss waterfall with amazing views on the way.

After spending time out doors we should get a hot beverage for the road, as we will sadly need to leave the national park and drive back to Reykjavík Capital, along the ancient seabed of Iceland, with our final destination set for Silica Hotel.

We will surely make some pleasant stops on the way that were not covered during the drive to Vatnajökull National Park. We plan to be at the Blue Lagoon resort in good time before your reservations at the phenomenal Moss restaurant. 
DAY 7
VOLCANO WONDERLAND

After a nice breakfast at your accommodation in the capital, you will start by taking the PCR test required. The traveller will need to register for the PCR test at this website ; travel.covid.is . Set the time for 9 a.m. if possible.

You are now set for an once in a liftime experience, out in nature hike to a live volcanic eruption in Geldingadalur Valley located between KEF international airport and Reykjavík Capital.

Be well prepared for spending the whole day outdoors. Distance of hiking is around 6-7 miles and total duration around 5-6 hours.

Included in tour:
  • Pickup/drop-off: 8:00-8:30. at hotel or a designated pickup place. 
  • Double occupancy accommodation for 6 night at hotels/guesthouses with private bathroom and breakfast during the tour. 
  • Transportation with spacious and modified 4×4 vehicles.
  • English guidance by a native guide and photographer.
  • Glacier hike/Ice cave expedition and safety gear such as crampons for your boots, harness, helmets and axes if needed.

Note: For a single room there is a supplement extra, as single rooms are more expensive.
         
         In private tours; instead for a glacier hike, an Ice Cave expedition is optional.
         
         Please note that the south coast route is a popular destination, but of course the guide will do everything to avoid the crowds at anytime.
         Bring with you warm and waterproof clothes and sturdy shoes ready for winds and occasional showers.
